I have had a life long interest in history and miniatures, which I have been lucky enough to combine into a 32 year career making historical miniatures for museums, private collectors and the hobby industry. I have worked for several different toy and collectibles brands over the years, often as a subcontractor under my own brand name, Hudson & Allen Studio which was established in 1991.

Like many of the other people I have met in the hobby industry I did not arrive directly into the profession of making models, but I can’t think of anything else I would rather have done.

In the summer of 2025, I retired from the W. Britain Toy & Model Figure company to follow my wife Ericka to North Carolina for her new job back in the museum field. To avoid any confusion I also abandoned my old brand name Hudson & Allen Studio. I started posting information on my Facebook page: Kenneth Osen - The Gentleman Soldier when I settled here in North Carolina to stay connected to like minded people.

It was abundantly clear that I still felt the need to create miniatures, so I decided to launch a website separate from my Facebook page. Not only could I offer items from my bench as they were available, but I could explain the philosophy of designing and building miniatures, with a healthy dose of history thrown in.  I hope some of you will enjoy my ramblings and thoughts on history, modeling techniques and items offered for sale here on Ken Osen’s Art.
